Mini dental implants are the smaller and sleeker alternative to traditional implants, but how much do they really cost? Many factors go into the expense of any procedure, including replacing your teeth with dental implants. While traditional dental implants are often more expensive than mini implants, it’s still important to understand where the price determinants come from, what Insurance companies will cover, and any financing options available to you. At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we want you to be well-informed about the procedure you’re looking for and its potential price. Book a free consultation with us today to determine the true potential cost of your mini implants!

Understanding Mini Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium posts we secure in your jawbone to restore your smile. By acting as artificial tooth roots, these implants help keep your jawbone healthy while supporting restorations like dental crowns, bridges, or dentures.

Cost of Mini Implants in Schaumburg, IL | Book a Free ConsultationAt Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we offer two types of dental implants.

Traditional dental implants are the larger of the two and have many components. These implants need a sufficient amount of jawbone for placement, which, unfortunately, many patients don’t have. To remedy this, we offer additional procedures like bone grafts that replace lost bone material, which adds to the cost.

Mini dental implants are smaller in diameter and consist of only one piece. Their narrow diameter allows us to place mini implants in patients with minimal jawbone structure in just one appointment! Using a minimally invasive procedure, we secure your implant in place, where it’s instantly stable enough to support a temporary restoration.

Additionally, due to their single-piece design, one-appointment placement, and lack of bone graft, mini implants are around half the cost of traditional implants! A lower cost and many additional benefits make mini implants a reliable tooth replacement option for most patients. However, these implants are still made from high-quality titanium, which is expensive.

Fortunately, we’re here to break down that cost and help you understand what your treatment is worth.

Breaking Down the Cost of Mini Implants

The number one determining factor in the cost of mini implants is how many implants you require. While mini implants are one-piece rather than two (already reducing the price), the more implants you use, the more expensive your procedure will be!

For example, if you need to replace one missing tooth, we can easily accomplish that with one mini implant. However, if you need to replace all of your teeth for a denture restoration, we will use as many as 12 implants, depending on the implant denture you’re looking for!

Another cost factor to consider is if your insurance covers dental implants. Most insurance companies consider dental implants cosmetic, meaning they won’t cover the procedure. However, you won’t know what your insurance will cover until you check with your provider! Some companies understand the restorative properties that implants provide and will cover at least part of the procedure. In some cases, you may even have coverage on the restoration, if not the actual implant.

For those without insurance—or whose insurance companies won’t cover their procedure—we provide flexible financing options! We partner with various third-party financing companies that help break your costs into manageable monthly payments, allowing you to afford treatments on your budget!

Additionally, we offer the Happy Smiles Family Dentistry Discount Plan. This exclusive membership is for clients without insurance who need assistance paying for procedures. With no waiting periods, annual maximums, or deductibles, you get discounted rates on all dental services—including dental implants!

To learn more about our discount plan or any of our financing partners, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Additionally, she utilizes a CBCT scan to assess the quality of your bone for dental implants. Dr. Aristodemo also uses laser dentistry, a new and exciting field of dentistry that has many potential benefits. With her expertise in laser procedures, she is able to use a concentrated light beam to perform oral surgery, remove cavities, and treat gum disease! By using a laser, rather than traditional tools, there is often less bleeding, less pain, and much faster healing. Lastly, Happy Smiles Family Dentistry is proud to offer mini dental implants, a smaller and sleeker version of traditional dental implants. The first time you smile, it’s involuntary. By about 6 weeks, you may begin to smile as a response to external stimuli, like a familiar voice. When you’re about a year old, your smile becomes a tool to demonstrate your happiness. Smiling is an important aspect of forming connections, so what if you’re too self-conscious to smile? Kids as young as 4 years old can show sensitivity about the appearance of their smile, which may make it more difficult to connect with others. If you’ve had a lifelong struggle with your smile, it may be time for something different! Dental veneers are a great way to revitalize your smile, but many worry they are only for rich Hollywood stars. At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we offer dental veneer treatment at an affordable cost because we believe everyone should love their smile!

What is a Dental Veneer?

Veneer Cost in Schaumburg, IL | Revitalize Your Smile Affordably

Dental veneers are thin sheets of ceramic or porcelain that we use to cover any issues you have with your teeth. Think of them as similar to a press-on nail, not replacing your natural tooth but covering it to present a more beautiful look.

The Veneer Process

To begin the veneer process, we must first make sure you are a good candidate. As veneers only cover the surface of your smile, we have to address any underlying issues before proceeding. Problems like gum disease or decay will only worsen underneath your veneer, so we must treat them promptly.

If you are eligible for veneers, we’ll start by preparing your teeth. Using a local numbing agent to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure, we will gently scrape off the surface layer of your front-facing enamel. This preparation is essential for the veneer process, as we want your thin layer of ceramic or porcelain to blend seamlessly in with the rest of your smile. By removing a small portion of damaged enamel, we can replace it with a veneer to make your tooth appear naturally perfect!

After the preparation is complete, we’ll take impressions of your smile and send them to a dental lab. There, technicians will craft your veneers, custom-fitting them to the exact shape, size, and color you want. However, this process takes a few weeks. In the meantime, we provide a set of temporary veneers that you wear to protect your teeth. While you wait, you can make changes to your temporary veneers that we’ll replicate in your final set.

Once your final veneers arrive, you’ll try them on! If you love them, we will cement your veneers in place to provide you with a beautiful new smile. If you want to make changes, we can either do them in-house or send them back to the lab for alterations.

In just a few weeks, you can revamp your smile so your teeth look as good as new!

The Cost of Dental Veneer Treatment

While it’s not true that only Hollywood stars can afford veneers, the price does have an impact. The cost of your veneer treatment largely depends on three factors.

  • Additional procedures: Treatments like a root canal or filling may be necessary before you can receive veneers. If you need any additional procedures before being eligible for veneers, that may add to your cost.
  • Veneer material: The material we make your veneers out of also affects the cost of treatment. For example, ceramic veneers are generally more expensive than composite veneers, as ceramic is a stronger material.
  • The number of veneers: The amount of teeth you want to perfect is one of the biggest price determiners. One veneer to cover up an imperfect tooth will be much less expensive than covering all teeth that show when you smile (about 10-12).

While insurance companies don’t often cover the cost of veneers because of their cosmetic nature, Happy Smiles Family Dentistry offers flexible financing options to help manage the price. With our third-party financing companies, we can help you find a plan that works for your budget!

By allowing you to split the cost of veneer treatment into manageable monthly payments, we ensure that everyone has the chance to love their smile!

Additionally, we offer an in-house savings program for patients without insurance. If you have any questions about the cost of veneer treatment or your financial options, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll be happy to assist you in any way we can!

Smiling is one of the most powerful tools in our arsenal of expressions. While it may not seem like much, the act of smiling actually releases neurotransmitters that affect your brain chemistry. A smile has amazing effects, like boosting self-esteem, helping you connect socially with others, or improving your mood! Unfortunately, not everyone feels comfortable enough with the appearance of their teeth to smile. If you feel insecure about your smile’s look, you’re less likely to smile around others or even to yourself. A cosmetic dentist, however, like Dr. Aristodemo at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, can help you feel better about your smile. Utilizing innovative cosmetic procedures, she can enhance the appearance of your smile, boosting your confidence through the roof!

Procedures Dr. Aristodemo Provides

Cosmetic Dentist in Schaumburg, IL | Revitalize Your Smile Today!

At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, Dr. Aristodemo offers comprehensive cosmetic procedures that revitalize your smile. These procedures include:

  • Teeth whitening: Dr. Aristodemo provides three teeth whitening options. The first is the in-office solution, which takes about 90 minutes in the chair using innovative whitening lasers. This solution provides immediate and beautiful results. The second option is customized take-home trays that she creates to fit perfectly in the contours of your mouth. You use these trays at home for about 20 minutes a day for two weeks to achieve a whiter smile. These trays are reusable and will last you for years! Finally, Dr. Aristodemo offers disposable trays that you throw away per use.
  • Dental veneers: For a more dramatic and permanent enhancement, Dr. Aristodemo recommends dental veneers. These thin slivers of porcelain are custom-designed to match your ideal shape, size, length, and color. With dental veneers, Dr. Aristodemo has the ability to provide you with a perfect smile that you can wear proudly! To place veneers, she uses a minimally invasive procedure to prepare your teeth. When you decide your smile is perfect, she cements the veneers in place. However, it is important to note that this procedure is irreversible.
  • Smile makeover: Utilizing a combination of different cosmetic procedures, Dr. Aristodemo provides a comprehensive treatment plan to perfect your smile down to every last detail! By correcting issues like cracks, chips, gaps, and stains, she can create a beautiful smile that fits your preferences and suits your facial structure. A smile makeover is a complete transformation of your smile, allowing you to smile confidently.

Understanding a Smile Makeover

The smile makeover process begins with a consultation. At this initial appointment, Dr. Aristodemo will discuss your smile goals, perform a thorough dental examination, and take an X-ray to create a custom treatment plan.

This treatment plan is tailored to your needs, utilizing many innovative procedures. While she may utilize teeth whitening and dental veneers in a smile makeover, she may also use procedures like orthodontic treatments or dental implants.

How a Cosmetic Dentist Uses Orthodontics

Dr. Aristodemo utilizes metal braces and Invisalign, both of which slowly shift your teeth into their ideal position. Each method has its own benefits and drawbacks, so which treatment you need depends on personal preferences and the complexity of your case!

Traditional metal braces are less comfortable and bulky but provide constant pressure on your teeth and can handle complex misalignment cases. In contrast, Invisalign cannot handle some of the more complex cases. Additionally, clear aligners don’t apply constant pressure, as you can remove them anytime. However, Invisalign provides excellent comfort and a faster and more discrete way to move your teeth, fixing your smile without drawing attention to it.

How a Cosmetic Dentist Uses Dental Implants

At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, Dr. Aristodemo provides two implant options. One is a traditional implant. These implants are larger and require a more invasive procedure, replacing missing teeth with crowns, bridges, or dentures. Placing traditional implants involves creating incisions in the gums as well as waiting 3-6 months for your final restoration.

Dr. Aristodemo also offers mini dental implants, a traditional implant alternative for those without enough jawbone or afraid of invasive procedures. Mini implants require a minimally invasive procedure that uses no incisions or stitches. Additionally, due to their smaller size and one-piece design, she places these implants in one appointment using minimal bone structure!

While some cases call for traditional implants, Dr. Aristodemo often prefers mini implants for the amazing benefits they provide patients like you!

If you have missing teeth, trust Dr. Aristodemo to use dental implants to complete your smile during the smile makeover process.

Trust a Cosmetic Dentist To Revitalize Your Smile

If you feel insecure about the appearance of your smile, don’t hesitate to seek help from a cosmetic dentist like Dr. Aristodemo! Using innovative cosmetic procedures and a comprehensive smile makeover, she revitalizes your smile! This beautiful new smile can make you look younger, boost your self-confidence, and help you smile again proudly.

Book a consultation to learn more about these cosmetic procedures and how Dr. Aristodemo uses them to enhance the appearance of your smile!

Did you know that smiling can reduce stress, boost physical health, and increase happiness? However, many adults feel self-conscious about their smiles, leading them to smile less. Issues like misaligned or chipped teeth can make it hard to feel confident. But here’s the good news: thanks to advancements in cosmetic dentistry, there are effective solutions to restore your smile and help you feel secure when you grin. Two popular options for achieving that perfect smile are dental bonding and veneers. But what’s the difference between veneers vs. bonding, and which one is right for you?

There’s a lot to consider, and it’s important you explore your options so you can make an informed decision.

Veneers vs. Bonding: What You Need To Know

VenVeneers vs. Bonding in Schaumburg, IL | Get a Free ConsultationA lot of patients are torn between veneers vs. bonding. They may seem like similar procedures, but they have big differences. There’s plenty to note, from materials to application process and preparation to cost.

To clarify the differences, it’s important to understand what each procedure entails.

What Is Dental Bonding?

Cosmetic dental bonding is a procedure that improves your smile. It is used to address a variety of cosmetic concerns, such as repairing chipped or cracked teeth, filling gaps between teeth, camouflaging stains or discoloration, reshaping uneven teeth, and protecting exposed tooth roots caused by gum recession.

An advantage of dental bonding is that it’s a minimally invasive procedure—Dr. Amelia Aristodemo can complete the process in a single visit! The procedure requires little to no removal of tooth enamel. In a majority of cases, there is no need for anesthesia. Dr. Aristodemo simply applies a tooth-colored composite resin (the same material used for tooth-colored fillings) to the affected tooth. She’ll shape and sculpt the material to get the desired look, and then harden it with a special light. Patients report feeling little to no discomfort during the dental bonding process.

Another benefit of bonding is its ability to seamlessly blend with your natural teeth. It enhances your smile and gives you the confidence boost you need.

The lifespan of dental bonding is anywhere between 10 and 15 years, depending on your oral habits. If you’re someone who chews on ice or bites your nails, it can cause wear and tear on the bonding material. Avoiding these habits and taking care of your bonded teeth is important.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are custom-made porcelain shells that are used to mask dental flaws. The veneer is placed on the front surface of your tooth.

Similar to dental bonding, veneers combat chipped or broken teeth, stains or discoloration, uneven teeth, and gaps between teeth. Manufacturers tailor veneers to fit the shape of your teeth, offering you a precise solution to dental imperfections.

Porcelain veneers are durable and boast remarkable longevity. They can last 15 years or more with proper care. Because they are made from high-quality dental porcelain, they are highly resistant to staining, keeping your teeth bright and white.

Unlike bonding, the dental veneer process requires Dr. Aristodemo to remove a thin layer of enamel from the front of your tooth. Afterward, she will take impressions of your teeth and ship these impressions to the dental lab. Then, lab technicians will create custom veneers to fit over your teeth and improve your smile. Some patients require more veneers than others, depending on their smile goals.

It may take the lab technicians a few weeks to create your veneers. In the interim, Dr. Aristodemo will place temporary veneers to protect your teeth. Once she receives your veneers, she will affix them to your teeth with a durable dental adhesive. Afterward, you can leave our office with a new and refreshed smile!

What Is the Difference Between Veneers vs. Bonding?

One key difference between veneers and bonding is their level of commitment. Dental bonding is a reversible procedure since it doesn’t alter your natural teeth. Veneers, on the other hand, require enamel removal, which means your teeth will always need some form of coverage after the procedure, as enamel doesn’t regenerate.

Additionally, when making your decision, consider what level of change you’d like to make. Veneers offer a more dramatic transformation than bonding, as they can completely reshape, resize, and enhance the appearance of your teeth for a flawless, uniform smile. Bonding, while effective for minor chips, gaps, or discoloration, is best for more subtle improvements. If you’re looking for a complete smile makeover, veneers may be the ideal choice, whereas bonding is great for targeted corrections.

You’ll also need to weigh the cost. Dental bonding is more affordable than veneers, but it doesn’t typically last as long. Because of the customization of veneers and the high-quality materials used, they tend to cost more.

Time for That Perfect Smile!

There are several differences between veneers vs. bonding, and the right choice depends on your unique needs and goals. When weighing your options, consider the type of transformation you’re looking for, as well as how much time and money you’d like to invest in your smile. Veneers can provide a more comprehensive makeover, while bonding is great for quick, cost-effective fixes.

At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we’re here to help you make informed decisions about your dental care and are ready to answer any and all of your questions. Schedule a consultation today and begin your journey toward a brighter, more confident smile.

Imagine you are working on a beautiful painting that you touch up every morning when you wake up and every night before bed. What if you had spent your whole life working on this painting, but no matter how hard you try, you can’t fix that one issue that’s bothering you? Maybe it’s a crack in the dry paint or a color you can’t seem to paint over, but no amount of brushwork seems to satisfy you. This can be painstakingly similar to taking care of your smile. Regardless of how much you brush and brush your teeth, you can’t always fix your smile’s imperfections with hard work. Sometimes, you need a better solution, like dental veneers! Unfortunately, veneers can be expensive, but at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, Dr. Aristodemo believes in investing in your smile at a manageable cost!

Explaining the Dental Veneer Procedure

Veneers Cost in Schaumburg, IL | Invest in Your Smile Today!Dental veneers are thin porcelain covers that hide your teeth’s imperfections.

The process of placing veneers is minimally invasive. First, Dr. Aristodemo will numb the teeth receiving veneers. For dental veneers to look seamless on your smile, your stained enamel must be removed so that the thin sheet of porcelain sits flush against your tooth. Therefore, she will carefully remove the outermost layer of your front-facing enamel. Then, she will provide you with temporary veneers to protect the prepared teeth.

While wearing these temporary veneers, you can find what size, shape, and color work best for you! We will mirror every change you make to your temporary veneers in your final version so you can have your ideal smile that will last for years to come!

Once they are ready, Dr. Aristodemo cements your veneers in place, presenting you with a bright and uniform smile.

Is the Cost of Veneers Worth It?

While dental veneers sound great to many people looking to enhance their smile, how do you know the price is worth the outcome? With veneers, Dr. Aristodemo creates your ideal smile, hiding any imperfections that bother you! Veneers hide issues like:

  • Chips and cracks: Dental trauma can easily cause a tooth to crack or chip. Dr. Aristodemo uses veneers to hide that damage, covering your chipped or cracked tooth with a perfect sheet of porcelain.
  • Gaps and overcrowding: Teeth can grow with large spaces in between them or overlap. Veneers, however, hide these crowded or gapped teeth to create a uniform appearance.
  • Mishappen teeth: Some teeth don’t match the rest of your smile, as they grow differently than your surrounding teeth. Veneers create a perfectly consistent appearance for each tooth, matching the remaining teeth in your smile.
  • Stubborn stains: Sometimes, no matter how much you brush or use teeth whiteners, stains persist. If you are dealing with discoloration and staining, veneers help whiten your smile.

If you have been struggling with any of these issues, it’s time to invest in your smile. Trust Dr. Aristodemo to cover your imperfections with dental veneers, allowing you to smile confidently. She has been helping patients like you enhance their smiles for over 15 years! Visit Happy Smiles Family Dentistry for quality dental care from a staff you can trust.

Understanding Veneers Costs

So, how much do veneers cost? The true answer is that it depends on factors such as the number of veneers you are looking for and what material you use!

Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not cover veneers, as they consider them a cosmetic procedure. However, Dr. Aristodemo works with third-party financing companies to help make veneer costs more manageable! With these flexible financing plans, you can split your bill into manageable monthly payments, making veneers a much more accessible dental procedure.

Happy Smiles Family Dentistry also offers a discount membership plan for patients without dental insurance. With this membership, you receive discounts on all services, with no waiting periods, annual maximums, or deductibles common in other in-house dental savings programs. Dr. Aristodemo also provides flexible monthly payment plans with this in-house membership to ensure that those without dental insurance still receive quality care!

Don’t Let the Cost of Veneers Hold You Back!

Just like that beautiful painting, your smile is a work of art. Don’t let simple imperfections prevent you from proudly showing it! How much does your smile affect the way you feel about yourself? For many, it plays a big role. What Is Cosmetic Dentistry?

When you think about a visit to the dentist, routine checkups or fillings might immediately come to mind. But that’s only part of what we do! While restorative treatments focus on improving oral function, cosmetic procedures are designed to enhance your smile’s appearance, giving you the confidence to show it off.

Cosmetic dentistry is for everyone—whether you’re deeply troubled by the state of your teeth or want subtle enhancements. Whatever your needs may be, our goal is to help you love your smile because we know the difference it can make in your life.

For someone who struggles to be themselves around others, a beautiful smile means the world. Going from hiding your smile behind your hand to laughing openly with friends drastically improves your quality of life. Dr. Aristodemo knows how transformative these cosmetic procedures are, so she offers numerous treatments that will leave you smiling confidently!

What Services Do We Utilize in Cosmetic Dentistry?

At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, Dr. Aristodemo provides a variety of cosmetic (and non-cosmetic) procedures that rebuild your smile. Whether you need a chipped tooth fixed or an entire tooth replaced, she is dedicated to providing quality care and patient-centered solutions.

Some procedures Dr. Aristodemo may include in your cosmetic dentistry treatment plan are:

  • Dental veneers: These thin white porcelain shells cover dental imperfections. With a minimally invasive procedure, Dr. Aristodemo uses veneers to hide stains, chips, cracks, and even gaps between teeth. She can either match your veneers to your surrounding teeth for a seamless look or make your smile more brilliant. Veneers offer a high level of customization, giving you the chance to create your ideal smile.
  • Teeth whitening: Dr. Aristodemo offers three kinds of teeth whitening treatments. One is an in-house treatment involving innovative laser technology that treats intrinsic and extrinsic stains. Another is custom-made trays that she tailors perfectly to your teeth—and they’re reusable! Dr. Aristodemo also offers pre-made trays that you throw away after each use.
  • Orthodontic procedures: While orthodontics primarily improve oral function, they also enhance the appearance of a smile. At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, Dr. Aristodemo offers both Invisalign and traditional metal braces. With these tried-and-true solutions, she can straighten teeth, close gaps, address overcrowding, and correct bite misalignments.
  • Dental implants: Dr. Aristodemo offers two kinds of implants: traditional and mini dental implants. While she does use traditional dental implants in some cases, mini implants are the ideal implant option for replacing teeth. Due to their sleek design, one-piece construction, and minimally invasive procedure, mini implants provide secure, natural-looking, and comfortable new teeth.

The first step to completing your smile makeover is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Aristodemo. At this appointment, she will examine your smile, discuss your goals, and create your personalized treatment plan. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Aristodemo has helped countless patients like you restore their confidence through cosmetic dentistry.

You only have one chance to make a strong first impression, right? A brilliant, confident smile can have a lasting impact, so it’s no surprise that so many people value a beautiful smile. In fact, the teeth whitening market is projected to reach $10 billion globally by 2030. However, even with proper care, teeth can naturally lose their brightness over time. While over-the-counter teeth whitening products are readily available, they provide inconsistent and sometimes disappointing results. Unfortunately, many people spend extensive amounts of money on these products, trying to brighten their smiles. The good news is there’s a reliable way to whiten your teeth that will leave them looking like new: professional teeth bleaching!

If you’d like to brighten your teeth, Dr. Aristodemo and the staff at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry can help you explore your options to find the best solution for you!

Teeth Bleaching in Schaumburg, IL | Brighten Your Smile Today!

What Causes Stubborn Tooth Stains?

In general, two kinds of stains affect our smiles.

Extrinsic Staining

Most commonly, staining problems are self-inflicted. Our diet and lifestyle choices create extrinsic stains, which are stains on the outside surface of the tooth enamel. Dark foods like berries and beverages like soda, coffee, and red wine leave stains behind. Cigarettes and chewing tobacco also dull the brightness of your teeth.

Of course, another way we can sabotage the look of our teeth is simply through poor oral hygiene. Inadequate brushing, infrequent flossing, and going days without proper dental care contribute to a decline in oral health and compromise the appearance of your smile.

Intrinsic Staining

Intrinsic stains are below-the-surface discolorations that run deeper, affecting the dentin below the enamel. These stains may result from certain medications, excessive fluoride exposure during childhood, or trauma to your teeth.

Aging plays its part, too—as we age, our enamel thins, revealing the yellowish layer below and making teeth look faded or worn. Professional teeth bleaching effectively combats many stains above and below the surface.

Choosing a Teeth Bleaching Option

Professional teeth whitening is remarkably effective, but it costs more upfront than over-the-counter solutions. So, why opt for professional whitening when you can buy some strips or paste at the drugstore?

The problem with over-the-counter whitening options is that they’re not very reliable and not very strong. Not only does the application and outcome lack professional monitoring, but these results rarely last more than a few months.

At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we customize your whitening treatment according to your needs and goals. With our professional products and techniques, your results can last as long as 3 years! Under the experienced guidance of Dr. Aristodemo, you’ll experience much more predictable and dramatic whitening.

We offer three options for teeth bleaching to make whitening your teeth convenient:

  • In-house laser whitening: Dr. Aristodemo will whiten your teeth in one appointment using laser technology. After applying a whitening gel, she will use the laser to activate it, allowing the gel to penetrate deeper into the enamel and break up stubborn stains. The process involves little discomfort and takes around an hour and a half. If you want immediate results, this option may be right for you!
  • Customized bleaching trays: We can also create custom bleaching trays. For a brighter smile, you’ll wear these trays for 20 minutes per day for about two weeks. These trays are reusable and last for years.
  • Pre-made trays: These trays are most similar to over-the-counter options, as you dispose of them after use. However, the trays we offer are more effective than those from drug stores, as they have a higher concentration of bleaching agents, which provides faster and more effective results.

These professional options offer more effective whitening and longer-lasting results compared to store-bought products.

Experience the Teeth Bleaching Difference at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry

It’s human nature to want to make a good first impression, and a beautiful, bright smile is one of the best ways to do it! With a professional teeth bleaching treatment at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, you’ll want to show your new smile to everyone you meet.

Dr. Aristodemo and the team at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry are your go-to experts for teeth whitening in the Schaumburg, IL, area. If you are ready to enhance your smile, contact us today to schedule a teeth whitening consultation.

Dr. Aristodemo, I’m really embarrassed about my teeth and am looking for ways to improve my smile. Because of this, I often feel self-conscious in social situations and avoid photos or laughing in case people see my smile. After doing some research, I found that dental veneers and crowns can make your smile more aesthetically pleasing. But I don’t know which option to choose! I’m scared these treatments might be painful or that my smile won’t turn out the way I want. Please help me make the best choice between veneers vs. crowns! — Julia

Don’t worry, Julia. We can help! At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we want all our patients to feel confident smiling wide! That’s why we offer various procedures that can enhance your smile, including crowns and veneers. While both are effective and reliable, their designs, functions, and procedures differ. Understanding these differences can help you make an informed decision about what’s best for you. Let’s break it down.

Veneers vs. Crowns: Design

Veneers vs. Crowns in Schaumburg, IL | Enhance Your Smile Today
A dental crown covers the entire tooth surface.

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that we cement to the front of your teeth. They’re a durable solution for hiding various smile imperfections.

Crowns, on the other hand, are tooth-shaped caps that cover the entire tooth. We often use them when teeth are too damaged for a filling, as they provide full coverage.

Veneers vs. Crowns: Function

Veneers primarily serve a cosmetic function by hiding flaws like stains, chips, cracks, gaps, and other irregularities. We carefully customize each thin sheet to your desired shape, color, and size, giving your teeth a brighter and more uniform appearance. Although veneers are mainly cosmetic, they can also enhance the structural integrity of teeth by providing an additional layer of protection against decay and wear.

In contrast, dental crowns are a better option for restoring a damaged tooth’s function. When a tooth is decayed or fractured, it may lack the structure or strength to support proper chewing and biting. Crowns protect and strengthen a vulnerable tooth to address these structural needs. Of course, while they primarily provide function, tooth-colored crowns may also be used for cosmetic purposes. A crown can complete your smile, hiding a tooth that looks different from the rest due to damage and decay.

When you visit Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we’ll evaluate your oral health and discuss your concerns to recommend the most suitable treatment.

Veneers vs. Crowns in Schaumburg, IL | Enhance Your Smile Today

Veneers vs. Crowns: Procedure

The procedure for these two popular treatments varies because of their design and intent.

Veneers are a highly customizable method for enhancing the color, shape, and alignment of your teeth. To ensure a perfect fit, our experienced dentist, Dr. Aristodemo, will prepare the tooth, creating room for the veneer to sit flush.

Dr. Aristodemo will numb the area using a local anesthetic, remove the outer layer of the enamel, and take impressions. Since your final veneers won’t be ready immediately, we’ll place temporary ones to protect the prepared teeth. In just a few weeks, Dr. Aristodemo will cement your custom veneers, leaving you with a beautiful, personalized smile.

In cases where more extensive restoration is needed, dental crowns offer a reliable solution. These caps protect and restore teeth that have lost significant structure, often due to extensive decay. Because the crown covers the entire tooth, Dr. Aristodemo must remove a bit more enamel. Just like with veneer preparation, she will first numb the treatment area. Then, she’ll use specialized tools to shave down the decayed tooth, making room for the crown. We use crowns made of metal, porcelain, or zirconia, which are strong materials designed to withstand regular wear and tear. Like the veneer process, we’ll cement your custom crown once it has been finalized at the dental lab.

Schedule an Appointment at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry Today!

If you’re like Julia, struggling to decide between veneers and crowns, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed. Both options can enhance your teeth’s appearance and restore your confidence, but the best choice depends on your dental health and aesthetic goals. A consultation with a trusted dentist can guide you toward a solution that addresses your unique concerns.

Don’t let fear of pain or uncertainty prevent you from achieving the smile you deserve. Modern dentistry offers comfortable and highly customized treatments that can transform your teeth—and your confidence. Schedule a consultation today to explore your options and take the first step toward a smile you’ll love!

Stanley cups are everywhere these days, and it’s no wonder—they’re cute, durable, and personalizable. Sure, they cost more than a disposable water bottle, but their long-lasting quality makes up for it. By investing in a reusable tumbler, you’re saving money in the long run, avoiding the constant need to buy new water bottles. Porcelain veneers work the same way for your smile. While the cost of veneers may seem high at first, they offer lasting value. Porcelain veneers are incredibly durable, meaning fewer repairs or replacements down the line. In the long run, they’re an investment that truly pays off!

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers have become increasingly popular in cosmetic dentistry, offering patients a solution for achieving the smile they’ve always wanted. These thin, custom-crafted shells enhance the appearance of your teeth by covering their front surface.

The versatility of porcelain veneers is truly remarkable. They can address a wide range of dental flaws, including discoloration, chips, minor misalignments, and inconsistencies in tooth shape or size. By carefully bonding these veneers to the front of the teeth, we can create a uniform, attractive smile that looks natural and beautiful.

Porcelain has become the material of choice for veneers due to its numerous benefits in dental applications. For example, its optical properties closely mimic those of natural tooth enamel, allowing light to reflect similarly. This quality helps create a more realistic appearance. Porcelain is extremely durable and stain-resistant, helping your new smile stay bright and vibrant for years to come. Additionally, its biocompatibility makes it well-tolerated by gum tissue and rarely causes irritation or adverse reactions. As a result, it’s an excellent choice for long-term oral health.

The Porcelain Veneers Process

The journey to achieving your ideal smile with porcelain veneers involves some key steps, each designed to ensure the best possible outcome. Here’s an overview of what you can expect during the porcelain veneers process:

  1. Cost of Veneers in Schaumburg, IL | Long-Lasting Smile MakeoversInitial Consultation:
    • Discuss your smile goals with Dr. Aristodemo
    • Undergo a comprehensive oral examination
    • Determine if you’re a suitable candidate for veneers
  2. Treatment Planning:
    • Dr. Aristodemo will create your customized treatment plan
    • Discuss color, shape, and size options for your veneers
  3. Tooth Preparation:
    • Dr. Aristodemo removes a small amount of enamel from the tooth surface
    • Impressions of your teeth are taken
    • Temporary veneers may be placed if necessary
  4. Veneer Fabrication:
    • Your custom veneers are crafted in a dental laboratory
    • This process typically takes 1-2 weeks
  5. Fitting and Bonding:
    • Dr. Aristodemo checks the fit, shape, and color of the veneers
    • The veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth
    • Final adjustments are made to ensure proper bite and comfort

Throughout this process, our team works closely with you to ensure your comfort and satisfaction. With proper care and maintenance, your new porcelain veneers will provide you with a beautiful, confident smile for many years.

How Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost?

It’s one of the most common questions, and rightfully so. However, the cost of porcelain veneers depends on several key factors. How many veneers you need and the complexity of your treatment will affect the overall cost. For example, a comprehensive smile makeover that involves placing veneers on all the teeth in your smile line will naturally cost more than applying veneers to just four front teeth.

After discussing your goals and needs at your consultation, we’ll provide a detailed cost breakdown so that you can determine if you’d like to finance your treatment.

Additionally, our dental savings membership program offers discounts on various treatments, including veneers.

The Cost-Effectiveness of Porcelain Veneers

One of the most appealing aspects of porcelain veneers is their longevity. With proper care and maintenance, which primarily involves regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups, porcelain veneers can last 20 years or longer! This makes them a worthwhile investment for patients seeking a long-term solution to improve their smile.

It’s similar to buying a Stanley tumbler: when you invest in one, you’re choosing a product designed to keep your drink cold for hours. Likewise, with porcelain veneers, you’re opting for a solution that transforms your smile and stands the test of time. The value is in the longevity, making veneers a cost-effective solution for a radiant smile that lasts.

Concerned About the Cost of Veneers? Let’s Talk!

However, we believe everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of. That’s why we’ve taken steps to make veneers more accessible and affordable. We’ve partnered with reputable financing companies to offer flexible payment options, ensuring that cost doesn’t stand in the way of your dream smile. Imagine trying to repair an intricate, ornate watch with oversized tools from a standard toolbox. They may be able to do the job, but their bulky metal would be cumbersome for such a delicate task. Wouldn’t it be much easier if you had the right precision tools for the job? Metal braces can feel similar when you want to straighten your teeth. These braces can be a cumbersome and uncomfortable solution to an intricate problem. Many patients find that Invisalign aligners offer a more gentle, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing approach. These clear plastic trays provide a delicate solution that can straighten your teeth without metal brackets and wires.

What are Invisalign Aligners?

Invisalign Aligners in Schaumburg, IL | Book a Free ConsultationWith over 25 years of success, Invisalign® offers a perfect blend of modern innovation and proven reliability. These clear aligners are made by 3D printing molds and thermoforming plastic over them, creating a series of custom trays for precise tooth movement. Each series moves you closer to your perfect smile by gradually shifting your teeth into place. You wear each tray for about two weeks, then move to the next in the series until your teeth have reached their final, corrected positions.

Just like regular braces, Invisalign aligners can address overcrowding, gaps in teeth, underbites, and overbites. While they may not be the best choice for every case, Invisalign offers unique benefits that traditional braces lack.

Why Choose Invisalign Aligners Over Braces?

Metal braces consist of a metal wire running across your teeth, held in place by metal brackets cemented to each tooth. While this method, which dates back to the late 1800s, remains highly effective, it has some drawbacks. Braces can cause discomfort, with wires and brackets possibly irritating the inside of the mouth throughout treatment.

Metal braces may feel bulky and uncomfortable, cause irritation and mouth sores, or impact how you speak. They also limit the foods you can eat and make brushing and closing more challenging.

Invisalign® aligners offer a completely different experience, with no metal or bulky parts. The clear trays fit smoothly over your teeth, providing a more comfortable feel. Plus, you can remove them during meals, allowing you to enjoy your favorite foods without restrictions and making cleaning your teeth easier. A quality that truly sets Invisalign apart is the flexibility—unlike braces, which stay on throughout treatment, you can remove Invisalign aligners for meals, brushing, and special events.

Who Are Invisalign Aligners For?

Many people wonder if they are too old for Invisalign®, but here at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we say you’re never too old for a beautiful smile!

Invisalign aligners can be a great option for those who want to straighten their teeth or correct a bite problem. If you’re considering teeth realignment but are put off by the discomfort and noticeable appearance of traditional braces, Invisalign could be the perfect alternative. These nearly invisible aligners fit seamlessly into any lifestyle, offering the discretion to go about your day without anyone noticing—whether you’re a teen or an adult.

How Much Do Aligners Cost?

The cost of Invisalign® varies depending on your specific needs. With Invisalign, treatment typically takes 12 to 18 months, though certain factors may extend or reduce the timeline and affect pricing. We work with your insurance to help defray costs.

Has your smile lost its luster? Are you considering teeth whitening? If so, you’re not alone! Tooth whitening data shows that 37 million Americans used whitening products in 2020. The quest for brighter teeth is a growing trend, but with so many products and methods out there, it can be hard to know where to start. From homemade remedies shared online to whitening strips lining drugstore shelves, knowing which option is safe and effective can be confusing. That’s why it’s best to consult with a professional. At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we’ll discuss your goals and help you understand which professional teeth whitening treatment may be right for you!

What Are Your Professional Teeth Whitening Options?

Here at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we offer three teeth whitening methods to meet our patients’ unique needs.

Professional Teeth Whitening in Schaumburg, IL | Dr. AristodemoIn-House Laser Whitening

Our in-house laser whitening is the fastest professional teeth whitening option we offer. Over-the-counter whitening products can’t compete with our advanced laser treatment. This treatment takes about 90 minutes and delivers immediate results! You can walk out the same day with teeth that are many shades whiter than they were before!

Customized Bleaching Trays

The second option is a customized home whitening treatment! At your appointment, Dr. Aristodemo will take an impression of your teeth to create custom whitening trays. You’ll use these trays and a professional whitening gel for 20 minutes a day over two weeks.

You can keep your custom trays and reuse them anytime you need a touchup, so there’s no need for frequent trips to the dentist. This is a great choice for those who want a safe and reliable way to brighten their smile without spending extra time in the office.

Pre-Made Bleaching Trays

This professional whitening option is similar to over-the-counter products—you take it home and use it once. However, the key difference is in the quality. These disposable trays are made by a professional and use a stronger concentration of hydrogen peroxide than typical store-bought products. As a result, you’ll get a brighter, longer-lasting smile that keeps your teeth looking white and radiant for longer.

Does Professional Teeth Whitening Hurt?

At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, our priority is your safety and comfort. Our teeth whitening options are reliable, effective, and safe, but there are a few reasons why teeth whitening may be uncomfortable for some patients. Sensitive gums, gum recession, and worn-down enamel are some problems that can interfere with teeth whitening. However, Dr. Aristodemo will assess your dental health during your initial appointment to ensure we choose the most comfortable treatment for you.

How Long Does Professional Teeth Whitening Last?

Professional teeth whitening can last anywhere from 6 months to 3 years, but your treatment longevity depends heavily on your habits. Drinks like wine, coffee, tea, and soda all have properties that can darken the teeth. If you frequently drink these beverages, your whitening treatment may not last as long as expected. When you meet with Dr. Aristodemo, she will review your lifestyle habits and make recommendations to help bring back your beautiful, confident smile.

Make an Appointment Today for a Brighter Smile!

Professional teeth whitening provides far better results than over-the-counter products or home remedies. With the expertise of Dr. Aristodemo at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, you can achieve a brighter, more radiant smile safely and efficiently. Whether you need fast, in-office whitening or a customized treatment you can use at home, we have the perfect solution for your needs. Contact us today to make an appointment and find the best teeth whitening option for you!

Dr. Aristodemo, I’ve been struggling with missing teeth for many years, and it’s starting to affect my life more than ever. I find myself avoiding social situations because I’m self-conscious about my smile. Eating has become a daily challenge, and I end up avoiding certain foods that I know are good for me. I know that I need help. I recently spoke with my dentist about dental implants, hoping they could be the solution I’ve been looking for. Unfortunately, I was told that I’m not eligible because of my jawbone. The thing is, I don’t want to settle for a partial denture. Is there any possibility that dental implants could work for me, or are there alternative treatments that could offer similar benefits? At this point, I’m desperate for a solution that will help me regain my confidence and comfort.

We understand how challenging and disheartening it can be to live with missing teeth, especially when it begins to impact your life in such significant ways. It’s important to know that you’re not alone in this. Many people face similar struggles, and there are reliable solutions that can help you regain your confidence and improve your quality of life.

Patients often visit us believing they are not good candidates for dental implants. Fortunately, dental implants aren’t “one size fits all.” There are many variations that allow us to tailor our solutions to each patient’s unique needs. In fact, with narrow-diameter implants like mini dental implants, more patients than ever before are eligible for advanced tooth replacement options.

Mini Implants: A Solution for Patients With Bone Loss

At Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we proudly offer mini dental implants, a remarkable innovation in implant dentistry that may provide exactly what you’re looking for. These slim implants require much less jawbone than a conventional implant because they are less than 3 millimeters wide. Unlike larger conventional implants, they don’t require us to perform an implant osteotomy to remove a portion of your jawbone. Instead, we make a small pilot hole through the gums and screw the implant into the jaw.

Mini implants are a valuable tool for patients like you who have experienced bone loss in their jaws. Their narrow design allows us to place them successfully in bone that has lost volume or density. Plus, once the implants are in place, they can prevent further bone deterioration. Because implants are prosthetic tooth roots, they stimulate the bone when you bite and chew, keeping it healthy and strong.

While your jawbone condition may prevent you from qualifying for conventional dental implants, you could be a good candidate for mini implants!

Additionally, most patients don’t need a bone graft to prepare for mini implants. This is a substantial advantage for those who are unable to undergo invasive oral surgery or simply want a quicker and less invasive path to a confident smile.

The Many Benefits of Mini Implants

Missing Teeth in Schaumburg, IL | Get Mini Dental Implants Today

Not only do mini implants allow more patients to access high-quality dental care, but they also offer unique advantages due to their size and design.

  • Less invasive: Using Dr. Todd Shatkin‘s patented minimally invasive technique, we can typically place mini implants in just one visit.
  • Less discomfort: Because of their less invasive procedure, you can expect much less bleeding and discomfort.
  • Less expensive: Mini implants tend to cut treatment costs significantly compared to conventional implants.
  • Less healing time: Less disruption to the gum and bone tissues means quicker healing.
  • Less time spent at the dentist: A mini implant’s one-piece structure and sleek design streamline the procedure, reducing the number of appointments needed for new teeth.

How We Can Replace Your Missing Teeth With Mini Implants

You mentioned preferring dental implants over a partial denture, which suggests you’re missing one or more teeth, but not all of them. Mini dental implants can support individual dental crowns, a dental bridge, or even a combination of both. However, we’ll need to evaluate you in the office to determine the best approach based on your specific needs.

At your free consultation, we’ll take a 3D scan of your mouth and jaw to assess the quality and quantity of the bone available. We’ll also discuss your concerns and goals, review your insurance plan to maximize your coverage, and explain our flexible financing options. This conversation and evaluation allow us to design your personalized treatment plan and set you on the path to a confident smile.

Missing Teeth? Schedule a Free Consultation With Dr. Aristodemo

We understand that gaps in your teeth can make you hesitate to smile and even make eating and maintaining a balanced diet difficult. Mini implants offer a reliable solution by filling those gaps and restoring your ability to eat comfortably and smile confidently. Although conventional dental implants may not have been a good fit for you, we’d love to see if mini implants are a better option.

We invite you to schedule a free consultation today to explore how mini implants can improve your quality of life!

Have you ever heard of Stéphane Breitwieser? He’s a real-life art thief, responsible for stealing (if you believe his story) 239 pieces of art from 172 European museums around the turn of the 21st century. You’d have to be pretty sneaky to pull all that off without being noticed! Unfortunately, traditional metal braces are anything but sneaky when it comes to straightening your teeth. They do their job well but stick out like a sore thumb whenever you smile. What if there were a way to straighten your teeth without anyone else knowing? With clear aligners like Invisalign, you can be just as sneaky as Monsieur Breitwieser—without the grand theft artwork. If you want to realign your teeth and are debating between Invisalign vs. braces, clear aligners let you straighten your smile more discreetly.

Comparing and Contrasting Invisalign vs. Braces

Invisalign vs. Braces in Schaumburg, IL | Clear AlignersA common dilemma when correcting misaligned teeth is choosing between Invisalign and metal braces. Both options will achieve the same result—a beautiful, straighter smile—but the journey to that destination is quite different.

One of the most significant advantages of Invisalign over traditional braces is its nearly, well, invisible appearance. Invisalign’s clear plastic trays offer a discreet method of tooth correction, allowing you to straighten your teeth without the jarring metal framework associated with braces. This feature particularly appeals to adults and teenagers who may feel self-conscious about wearing braces, but there’s no age limit for those who can benefit from Invisalign.

Comfort and Convenience

Invisalign trays come out on top when compared to braces in terms of comfort. Made from a patented thermoplastic material, each tray is custom-designed to perfectly fit your teeth while gently shifting them into perfect alignment. This tight fit eliminates the irritation and discomfort often caused by the brackets and wires of traditional braces. Furthermore, Invisalign aligners are removable so that you can eat and drink your favorite foods without the restrictions imposed by braces. This removability also simplifies your oral hygiene routine, as there are no braces or wires to clean around.

Treatment Time and Compliance

One big difference between the two options is that clear aligners put much of the responsibility on you, the patient. Invisalign treatment typically requires you to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day, with the total treatment timeline varying based on your individual needs. It also requires you to precisely follow the sequence of aligners that move your teeth into their final positions. The success of Invisalign heavily relies on your consistency and personal responsibility at home. Failing to wear the aligners as directed can extend your treatment time or affect the final results.

Conversely, braces are non-removable, except by your orthodontist. Their “set it and forget it” design ensures constant pressure on the teeth and potentially more predictable results, though this comes with more frequent office visits and adjustments.

Suitability and Effectiveness

Because of its gentler progression, Invisalign is most effective for mild to moderate alignment issues, crowding, and certain bite corrections. In contrast, we may not recommend Invisalign for more complex or severe misalignments. During your free consultation, an experienced Invisalign dentist like Dr. Amelia Aristodemo can evaluate whether Invisalign is appropriate for your specific orthodontic needs.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost vs. Braces?

Addressing the financial aspect of the Invisalign vs. braces debate is essential. Historically, the Invisalign system was more expensive than braces. However, as the technology has become more widespread, the cost difference has narrowed, making Invisalign a competitive option. Additionally, dental insurance plans that cover orthodontic treatment often provide similar benefits for both Invisalign and traditional braces, further easing the financial burden. Should you need lending assistance, we work with financing companies to make orthodontic treatments more affordable for all our patients.

A smile is a powerful tool in our social toolbox. It can convey confidence, approachability, happiness, and acceptance. But smiling has many effects you may not have expected. For example, people who smile more are more successful at their jobs, perform better while exercising, and even are viewed as cooler by their peers! With all those benefits from flashing your pearly whites, why wouldn’t you want to smile as much as possible? As it turns out, many people are unhappy with how their smile looks. The good news is that there’s a way to dramatically enhance and revitalize your smile quickly and affordably: with the help of a veneer dentist like dr Amelia Aristodemo.

Understanding Dental Veneers

Veneer Dentist in Schaumburg, IL | Dental Veneers | Dr. AristodemoDental veneers are wafer-thin, tailor-made coverings that hide blemishes on the front side of your teeth, immediately upgrading their appearance. These porcelain shells correct various cosmetic issues, including discoloration, chips, gaps, or misalignment. They can be made from either porcelain or a composite resin, but porcelain veneers are known for their natural appearance, durability, and stain resistance, making them the preferred choice for those looking for long-term results.

To customize the veneers to fit your teeth seamlessly, we need to remove some enamel from your teeth, making this a non-reversible process. However, your veneers can last 15 years or more with proper care and good oral hygiene.

Some people consider veneers a procedure focusing on outer beauty, but that’s far from the whole picture. Having the smile of your dreams gives you the confidence to live life to the fullest without worrying about what your teeth look like. You won’t ever need to hide your teeth while laughing or make a poker face in photos instead of smiling. Instead, you’ll spread joy and happiness to everyone around you with a dazzling grin. Veneers are about self-confidence and living with less anxiety, knowing your smile looks how you’ve always wanted it.

The Role of Your Veneer Dentist

Many people want a brighter smile, and veneers offer a reliable solution for those looking to enhance their dental aesthetics. As a veneer dentist, I understand that considering veneers goes beyond wanting a cosmetic makeover; it’s about improving your confidence and quality of life. There are many ways to enhance the look of your teeth, but their results can vary, and some may fade over time. Dental veneers can be a form of permanent teeth whitening and address other cosmetic issues, all while remaining affordable.

What Are Veneers?

Permanent Teeth Whitening in Schaumburg, IL | Dental VeneersVeneers are more than just a “new coat of paint” for your teeth. These thin, custom-made shells attach to the front surface of your teeth and will cover any blemishes or imperfections. They are primarily made from natural-looking porcelain and are known for their durability and stain-resistant properties. These qualities make veneers an excellent choice for permanent teeth whitening. Unlike temporary whitening solutions that require regular touch-ups, veneers offer a long-term solution to discolored or stained teeth. Porcelain veneers can last 15 years or more if properly taken care of.

Besides giving you a brighter smile, veneers can correct chips, gaps, and misalignments, providing a comprehensive solution for several cosmetic issues. Their custom-made nature means that veneers can blend with your natural teeth, creating a more harmonious smile.

It’s important to note that to have veneers sit flush with the rest of your teeth, we must remove some tooth enamel. This removal makes veneers a non-reversible decision.

In addition to veneers, we also offer dental laminates, essentially thinner versions of veneers that require little to no enamel removal. However, dental laminates don’t share the same durability as veneers and may need to be replaced more frequently. If you’re looking for a permanent way to alter your smile, porcelain veneers are the way to go.

How Veneers Transform Your Teeth

Selecting the right veneer dentist is crucial for achieving the best results. The process starts with a detailed consultation, where Dr. Aristodemo will assess your dental health and discuss your cosmetic goals. This initial step is important for creating a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs and preferences.

The procedure for getting veneers involves preparing the teeth by removing a small amount of enamel. This is necessary to ensure the veneers fit seamlessly and look natural. We will use a local anesthetic, and Dr. Aristodemo’s practiced hand makes this a painless process. After this, impressions of your teeth are taken and sent to a lab, where they make your custom veneers. While this process occurs, we’ll attach temporary veneers to your teeth. Once ready, we’ll remove the temporary veneers and bond the custom veneers to your teeth, instantly transforming your smile.

How Much Does Permanent Teeth Whitening Cost?

One common concern about veneers is their cost. It’s important to view veneers as an investment in your self-esteem and oral health. While insurance doesn’t often cover veneers, the dental office team can assist you in understanding your insurance benefits. To help make this investment more manageable, we’ve partnered with multiple financing companies to offer payment plans that fit various budgets. Additionally, we offer an in-house discount plan, making necessary dental work more affordable.

Schedule a Consultation for Permanent Teeth Whitening

Veneers offer a durable, long-lasting solution for those looking to achieve permanent teeth whitening and improve their dental aesthetics. If you’re considering veneers to enhance your smile or to address other cosmetic concerns, the first step is to schedule a consultation at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry. This meeting allows you to learn more about the procedure, discuss your goals, and begin your journey toward a more confident smile.

By choosing the right veneer dentist and exploring financing options, you can make this transformative procedure affordable. Contact our office today to learn more about veneers and take the first step toward a brighter, more confident smile.

If you grew up around people who wore traditional metal braces, you may have heard some of these petty childhood insults. Brace Face! Train Tracks! Metal Mouth! Tinsel Teeth! Hopefully, we outgrow these hurtful nicknames at some point, but many people are still self-conscious about how it looks to wear metal braces as a teen or adult. With more adults than ever opting for orthodontic treatment, the visual aspect of braces is a genuine concern. At Happy Smile Family Dentistry, we’re pleased to offer braces alternatives such as Ivisalign®, which allow you to straighten your teeth in a more discreet and subtle way.

The Issues With Metal Braces

Braces Alternatives in Schaumburg, IL | Clear Aligners | InvisalignMetal braces have long been the go-to solution for crooked teeth. They certainly do the job, as millions of transformed smiles can attest. However, since their inception, the bulky framework of traditional braces has often been a source of embarrassment, discomfort, and limitation.

The metal brackets and wires with braces can poke and prod inside your mouth, causing soreness and even bleeding. Braces also limit the foods you can eat and are far more challenging to clean, thanks to the extra metalwork inside your mouth. Finally, metal braces drastically change how your smile looks, causing many people to feel embarrassed in social situations or while taking photos. Much like getting a drastically new hairstyle, there’s no hiding the fact that you’re wearing braces, which could take years to complete their treatment. For older teens and adults looking to straighten their teeth while maintaining a particular lifestyle, it may be time to consider an alternative to braces.

Clear Aligners: The Braces Alternative

Over the past few decades, a new technology has taken hold of the orthodontic world: clear aligners. There are many different brands of aligners, but the most well-known among these is Invisalign. Dr. Aristodemo and the Happy Smiles Family Dentistry team prefer Invisalign because of their long track record of quality and effectiveness.

The Invisalign system uses a series of custom-made trays that work sequentially to straighten teeth. The best aspect about these trays is that they’re made of a transparent, medical-grade polymer nearly invisible to the naked eye when placed on teeth. Unlike braces, it will be much harder for people to tell you’re undergoing orthodontic work unless you let them in on the secret.

The Invisalign Process

The path to choosing Invisalign starts with a free consultation. Dr. Aristodemo will examine your mouth, discuss options, and answer any questions. To begin the Invisalign process, we’ll take a digital scan of your mouth to form a treatment plan. Once created, we’ll send it to the Invisalign laboratory to create your custom series of trays.

After your trays come in, you’ll come back for a fitting and to receive usage instructions. Invisalign does require more patient accountability than braces, as the patient is responsible for wearing them correctly and changing trays at the proper times. For Invisalign to work as intended, you’ll need to wear them 20-22 hours per day, only taking them out to eat. Before reinserting them, you’ll need to brush and rinse so food particles don’t end up trapped in the trays. Finally, you’ll be responsible for the proper progression of the trays over time. Dr. Aristodemo will still see you regularly to give you the next set of trays and ensure everything is on track, but the onus is on you to keep the system progressing as instructed.

If all instructions are followed correctly, the aligners will slowly push your teeth into their final positions. The Invisalign process is usually faster than traditional braces. Once it’s done, you’ll be given a retainer to wear to keep your newly straightened teeth in their proper positions.

The Cost of Invisalign

Every dental procedure comes with some financial concern, but our practice is dedicated to helping you find the best plan for your family’s budget. We’ll help you determine whether your dental insurance will help cover some of the Invisalign cost and how much. If you need financing help, we collaborate with multiple lending companies to offer payment plans that can work for you.

Explore Braces Alternatives Today

Do you want straighter teeth without the awkwardness of wearing metal braces? If so, you should consider alternatives to braces, such as Invisalign. Call us to schedule a free consultation if you’re ready to see whether Invisalign is right for you. Thanks to Invisalign, you could have a more uniform, beautiful smile while keeping your orthodontic treatment more discreet.

Many people are self-conscious about their smiles, frequently covering their teeth when they laugh or opting for closed-mouth smiles in photos. But having a beautiful smile has important social and emotional impacts. For one, it can boost your self-esteem, giving you the confidence to live your desired lifestyle. A great smile also affects the people around you. Studies have shown that people with dazzling smiles are seen as friendlier and more approachable. While we offer many different cosmetic treatments at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, if you’re looking to dramatically enhance your smile in a short period of time, porcelain veneers are a great option.

Understanding Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers in Schaumberg, IL | Cosmetic DentistryPorcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells that we cement to the front of your teeth. They are designed to hide imperfections and create a dazzling, uniform smile. Veneers can be made of a composite material, but porcelain veneers are more durable and stain-resistant. For the veneers to sit flush with the rest of your teeth, we need to remove some enamel before placing them. This makes getting veneers a non-reversible process, as tooth enamel doesn’t grow back like other cell structures in the body. However, porcelain veneers are durable, and with proper care, they can last you 15-20 years or more.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Anybody who wants to improve their smile and self-confidence is a good candidate for veneers. However, you do have to be free from any oral health issues like cavities or gum disease first.

Veneers can mask many dental imperfections:

  • Broken or chipped teeth
  • Gaps between your teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Teeth that are too small
  • Stained teeth, especially when tooth whitening isn’t enough

Alternatively, if your main goal is to straighten your teeth, braces or Invisalign® may be better treatment options.

The Process

The process of getting veneers is relatively straightforward.

  1. Initial visit: Before making any decision, we’ll need to ensure you’re in good oral health and will take the time to answer any questions you may have. Dr. Aristodemo and her experienced staff can examine your mouth and explain the process, clarifying costs and financing opportunities.
  2. Enamel removal: For the veneers to sit perfectly in line with the rest of your teeth, we must make room by removing some enamel. This process is relatively painless, but we can apply a local anesthetic or employ other ways to reduce dental anxiety if you are especially nervous.
  3. Create a mold: Our experienced staff will take a mold of your teeth to create your custom veneers. We’ll send the mold to a dental lab, where your custom veneers will be crafted.
  4. Temporary veneers: In the meantime, we’ll give you a set of temporary veneers. This “trial smile” will give you time to get used to the feeling and look of your new teeth.
  5. Final application: Once the lab finishes your custom veneers, we’ll remove the temporary set and carefully cement the final set to your teeth. With this final step, your brand-new smile is complete!

The Cost of Porcelain Veneers

We understand that cost can be a concern with any dental procedure. However, at Happy Smiles Family Dentistry, we strive to make dental transformations affordable. We don’t want financial stress to get in the way of your health and happiness.

The final cost of porcelain veneers is influenced by the complexity of your dental requirements, the quality of the materials chosen, and the number of veneers you need. These elements together determine the overall investment in achieving your desired smile.

While purely cosmetic procedures aren’t usually covered by insurance, we partner with three lending companies to offer payment plans that fit any budget. Our in-office discount plan is another option, giving you savings on procedures throughout the year.
